Job summary

Pinpoint Asia is seeking a senior security engineer to build and operate critical security platforms across complex hybrid, multi-cloud and on-prem landscapes.

You will own security controls, drive automation, and respond to critical events in a 24/7 setting, collaborating with infrastructure and engineering teams to balance security with delivery speed.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of hands-on security engineering or SecOps experience.
• Strong networking knowledge (tcpdump, Wireshark) and OS familiarity (Windows & Linux).
• Cloud platform experience (AWS, Azure, or Alibaba) and security tooling (firewalls, EDR, SIEM, CASB, proxies).
• Scripting or programming skills for automation.
• Understanding of offensive security and real-world attack patterns.
• Ability to balance strong security with rapid delivery.

Responsibilities

• Act as SME for core security solutions, ensuring observability, scalability, and full integration.
• Own health and evolution of security controls across environments (firewalls, EDR, SIEM, SASE, identity).
• Drive automation of security processes to reduce manual effort and improve resilience.
• Handle complex troubleshooting and respond to critical security events in a 24/7 global operations model (rotational weekends).
• Partner with infrastructure and engineering teams to embed practical security controls without slowing delivery.

They are currently building out a modern, scalable global security function and need a senior, hands-on expert to help shape and drive this transformation.

The Role & Landscape: You'll be deep in the weeds building, operating, and improving core security platforms across a complex hybrid, multi-cloud, and on-prem environment.

• Act as the SME for key security solutions, ensuring they are observable, scalable, and fully integrated.
• Take hands-on responsibility for the health and evolution of security controls (Firewalls, EDR, SIEM, SASE, Identity).
• Drive automation across security processes to reduce manual effort and improve resilience.
• Handle complex troubleshooting and respond to critical security events within a global 24/7 operations model (includes rotational weekend coverage).
• Partner closely with infrastructure and engineering teams to embed practical security controls that don't slow down delivery.

What We Are Looking For:

• 10+ years of hands-on experience in security engineering or SecOps.
• Deep technical understanding of networking (tcpdump, Wireshark), operating systems (Windows & Linux), and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Alibaba).
• Proven experience operating and automating security technologies (firewalls, EDR, SIEM, CASB, proxies).
• Strong scripting or programming skills in at least one high-level language focused on automation.
• An understanding of offensive security and how attacks manifest in real-world environments.
• A pragmatic approach: you understand how to implement strong security without crippling operational speed.
• Experience in low-latency or high-performance financial systems is a huge plus, but not strictly required if you have managed highly complex enterprise environments.
