Job summary

Keystone Group in Hong Kong seeks an experienced Linux Systems Administrator to lead setup, patching, monitoring and DR planning. The role includes troubleshooting, capacity management, and advising on system architecture across projects.

Candidates should have 5+ years of Red Hat Linux administration, strong infra knowledge, and English/Chinese communication skills. On-call work and occasional after-hours support are expected.

Qualifications

• Degree holder in information technology, computer science or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in Redhat Linux 8/9 system administration.
• Solid knowledge of technical infrastructure and system architecture design.
• Experience with distributed systems and audit/compliance requirements.
• Proficient in English and Chinese (spoken and written).
• Willing to work after hours for urgent production issues.

Responsibilities

• Perform Linux system administration including setup, backup, patch upgrade, monitoring and health checks.
• Troubleshoot system issues and optimize performance.
• Manage capacity monitoring on systems and applications.
• Provide consultancy on system architecture design to project teams.
• Adhere to internal IT audit guidelines and update technical standards.
• Serve as a technical advisor to junior system administrators.
• Generate and deliver system performance reports.
• Oversee routine operational tasks and ensure timely completion.
• Prepare and maintain disaster recovery failover procedures and execute DR drills.
• Coordinate infrastructure changes related to network deployments or upgrades.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement preventive actions.
• Provide 7x24 on-call support for production incidents.

Job description

• Perform Linux system administration including system setup and backup, software installation, patch upgrade, system monitoring and health checks.
• Responsible for system troubleshooting and performance turning.
• Manage capacity monitoring on system and applications.
• Provide advice and consultancy service to project team with system architecture design.
• Revise technical standard guidelines adhering to Internal IT audit regulations.
• As a technical advisor for junior system administrator.
• Capable of generating and delivering system performance reports.
• Able to oversee routine operational tasks to ensure timely completion.
• Skilled in preparing and maintaining disaster recovery failover procedures.
• Able to activate and support DR systems during annual drills.
• Experience coordinating infrastructure changes related to network deployments or upgrades.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement preventive and corrective actions.
• Provide 7*24 on call service for production issues and emergency incidents
• Upon mutual agreement by both parties for support arrangement during those special circumstances.

Required Expertise:

• Degree holder in information technology, computer science or related discipline
• Minimum 5 years’ working experience in Redhat Linux 8/9 system administration
• Solid knowledge in technical infrastructure environment and experience in system architecture design
• Hands-on experience in Veritas Infoscale, Redhat GFS, Redhat Cluster suite and middleware products such as Apache, Nginx, JBOSS EAP, Tomcat, WebSphere and MQSeries.
• Proficiency in shell scripting, Bigfix and ansible
• Experience in distributed system design and administration is a plus.
• Experience in system performance monitoring and tuning
• Self-motivated, and willing to work under pressure to meet deadlines
• Will to work out of office hours for urgent production issues supporting
• Good interpersonal and communication skill with a good command of spoken and written Chinese and English. knowledge of Mandarin is a plus.
• Familiarity with End-of-Support (EOS) system upgrades, patch management and lifecycle management.
• Strong understanding of audit and compliance requirements, including documentation, SAT, and user access reviews.
