Job summary

The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology Library invites applications for a dynamic librarian to join the Research & Learning Support team. The appointee will contribute to planning, execution, and assessment of the Library’s research and learning initiatives, with emphasis on supporting researchers’ workflows in an evolving AI-assisted environment.

Qualifications

• A master’s degree in library and information science or a related field with at least 2 years post-qualification experience.
• Growth mindset, proactive and collaborative attitude; ability to multitask in an AI-enhanced environment.
• Strong understanding of the research workflow, open science trends, data management, impact assessment, and scholarly publishing.
• Excellent written and spoken English; Chinese proficiency (Cantonese/Putonghua) is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage HKUST repositories and research data planning; oversee transformative agreements.
• Promote open scholarship and scholarly communication best practices within the HKUST community.
• Design and deliver research instruction, including workshops, guides, and interactive tools that integrate AI ethically.
• Provide bibliometric and impact analyses; generate reports to support assessment exercises.
• Serve as the primary library liaison for designated disciplines with tailored consultations and collection development.
