Job summary

Lingnan University invites applications for an Assistant Library Officer (Learning Support) in the Library. The role provides clerical and operational support for information literacy programs, handles enquiries, and assists with Course Readings @ Library and publicity activities.

Candidates should have 1–2 years in academic libraries, strong bilingual English/Chinese skills, and proficiency in PC tools; knowledge of 3D tech is a plus. Evening/weekend shifts may apply.

Qualifications

• Diploma / Certificate in library service or equivalent is an added advantage.
• 1-2 years of working experience preferably in academic libraries with positive customer service attitude.
• Good command of English and Chinese (including Cantonese and Putonghua).
• Ability to work in teams and independently.
• Proficiency in PC skills, with graphic design software knowledge and website authoring experience preferred.
• Knowledge of 3D modelling, 3D printing, 3D scanning, laser cutting and engraving is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide clerical and logistical support to the smooth running of information literacy programs including orientations, workshops, and all other reference and instruction services in both online and in-person formats for the Lingnan community.
• Assist in conducting library tours, handling enquiries at the service counter and via other channels, and other public services.
• Assist in managing and coordinating the operations of Course Readings @ Library service.
• Keep the content of the library website and digital learning objects up-to-date.
• Prepare promotional materials for workshops and events, and provide supports in all publicity activities.
• Gather and record statistics, and compile different surveys, statistics and usage report for departmental use.
• Supervise part-time and student helpers.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors and University Librarian.
• Shift duties on evenings, weekends and public holidays will be required.
