Job summary

Ambition is working with a leading banking institution in Hong Kong to hire an IT Project Manager for a Core Banking Modernization Program. You will oversee end-to-end data migration from legacy systems to a new core platform, aligning with business and IT teams.

The role requires 5+ years PM experience in banking, expertise in data migration, ETL, data mapping, and strong stakeholder management. Engagement with external vendors and cross-functional teams is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related discipline required.
• 5+ years of project management experience in banking or financial services.
• Proven record managing large-scale data migration or core banking transformation projects.
• Strong understanding of data migration, ETL, data mapping, and reconciliation processes.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and vendor management skills.

• Develop and manage project plans, schedules, resources, risks, and mitigation strategies.
• Coordinate with business stakeholders, IT teams, data teams, and external vendors to define and execute migration requirements.
• Work closely with ETL, data mapping, and database teams to support migration strategy and data conversion activities.
• Drive data validation, reconciliation, and quality assurance processes to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
• Plan and manage migration rehearsals and production cutovers, providing regular updates to stakeholders and senior management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related discipline.
• 5+ years of project management experience within banking or financial services.
• Proven experience managing large-scale data migration or core banking transformation projects.
• Strong understanding of data migration, ETL, data mapping, and reconciliation processes.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and vendor management skills.
• PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile certification is an advantage.

Preferred Experience

• Core Banking System implementation or modernization projects.
• Large-scale production cutover and migration planning.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams in complex banking environments.
