Job summary

Ambition is working with a leading banking institution in Hong Kong to hire an IT Project Manager for a Core Banking Modernization Program. You will oversee end-to-end data migration from legacy systems to a new core platform, aligning with business and IT teams.

The role requires 5+ years PM experience in banking, expertise in data migration, ETL, data mapping, and strong stakeholder management. Engagement with external vendors and cross-functional teams is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related discipline required.
• 5+ years of project management experience in banking or financial services.
• Proven record managing large-scale data migration or core banking transformation projects.
• Strong understanding of data migration, ETL, data mapping, and reconciliation processes.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and vendor management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end data migration activities, ensuring delivery within timelines and objectives.
• Develop and manage project plans, schedules, resources, risks, and mitigations.
• Coordinate with business stakeholders, IT, data teams, and vendors to define migration requirements.
• Work with ETL, data mapping, and database teams to support migration strategy and data conversion.
• Drive data validation, reconciliation, and data quality assurance to ensure accuracy.
• Plan and manage migration rehearsals and production cutovers; provide updates to stakeholders.
