Job summary

DFI Retail Group seeks an Internal Communications Assistant Manager to keep colleagues across the group informed, connected and engaged—from head office to stores and distribution centres. You will plan and run communications, manage intranet, email and newsletters, and craft articles, announcements, videos and graphics.

You will deliver themed campaigns on priorities like AI, Sustainability and Cyber Security, collaborate with HR, IT and business units, and support senior leaders with messaging

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, PR or related field.
• Minimum 5 years in internal communications, employee engagement, content, social media or marketing.
• Portfolio showing creative ideas with photography, videography and design skills.
• Strong social media instincts and understanding of what resonates.
• Strong project and stakeholder management across multiple workstreams.
• Exceptional written communication with a warm, collaborative voice.
• Comfort in a fast-paced, changing environment.
• Familiarity with creative and AI-assisted tools; intranet experience a plus.

Responsibilities

As an Internal Communications Assistant Manager

As an Internal Communications Assistant Manager, you will keep team members across DFI informed, connected and engaged, from head office to stores and distribution centres. That includes the everyday communications that keep the business moving, and themed campaigns on priorities like AI, Sustainability, and Cyber Security. You will work with business units and agency partners to bring them to life and bring fresh ideas that help raise the team's creative standard. The audience is varied and close, so you will see quickly what works.

The challenge is to:

• Plan and run internal communications across the Group with the Internal Communications Manager, so colleagues get clear, timely and engaging information.
• Manage day-to-day content and channels, including the intranet, email, collaboration platforms and newsletters.
• Write and produce everyday content, such as articles, announcements, short video, photography, graphics and social-style posts.
• Deliver themed campaigns, such as cyber awareness, sustainability and AI, working with business units, HR, IT, and other functions to keep timelines, owners and approvals on track.
• Help keep the internal communications calendar coordinated across businesses.
• Support senior leaders with messaging, talking points and event content.
• Track engagement and feedback and use them to improve each campaign.
• Develop creative concepts and fresh formats for campaigns, and brief agencies on higher-end production.
• Share ideas, formats and tools that lift the creative standard across the team.

Do you have experience in internal communications?

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, PR or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of proven experience in internal communications, employee engagement, content, social media or marketing, with a record of delivering multi-stakeholder projects or campaigns.
• Creative ideas supported by a strong portfolio, along with solid hands-on photography, videography, and designingskills.
• Strong social media instincts and a feel for what people share.

• Strong project and stakeholdermanagement skills, including managing several workstreams and stakeholders at once.
• Exceptional written communication skills with a clear, natural, and human-centered voice, and brings a warm, collaborative approach with the confidence to influence stakeholders across diverse business functions.
• Comfort in a fast-paced, changing environment.
• Familiarity with creative and AI-assisted tools, and with intranet, is a plus.
• Candidates with more experience will be considered as Internal Communications Manager
