Job summary

Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong is seeking a House Manager to join our Front Office team. Based at the hotel in Hong Kong, the House Manager ensures smooth front office operations and protects the hotel's reputation.

You will lead supervisory staff, resolve guest issues, and make decisions in the General Manager's absence, reporting to the Director of Rooms. Fluency in English and Chinese is required, with at least 5 years in Front Office.

• 5 years of Front Office Operations with at least 1 year in supervisory/management role.
• Excellent communication skills in English and Chinese.
• Superior guest resolution and problem-solving abilities.
• Bachelor's Degree in a related field is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist Director of Front Office Operations to ensure smooth and efficient Front Office operations.
• Monitor staff performance to ensure adherence to hotel policies and procedures.
• Support all departments with service recovery as needed.
• Empowerment to make decisions in the hotel's best interest in the absence of the General Manager.
• Aim for maximum guest satisfaction and uphold hotel quality standards.

About the job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong within Front Office in Hong Kong, the House Manager is responsible for the smooth miming and reputation of the hotel and to make decisions in the interests of the business in the absence of the General Manager Hotel Manager. The House Manager reports to the Director of Rooms.

As House Manager, you will be responsible for the following duties:

• To assist Director of Front Office Operations in ensuring smooth and efficient operation of the Front Office Department
• Observes and ensures that all colleagues are performing their duties in accordance with established hotel policies and procedures
• Assist all departments with any service lapses that may arise
• Empowered to make decisions in the best interest of the hotel from a sound understanding of how decisions are made, ensuring consistency
• Achieve maximum guest satisfaction and adhere to the quality standards required by the hotel

As House Manager, we expect from you:

• 5 years of Front Office Operations with at least 1 year at supervisory/management level
• Excellent communication skills with fluent spoken in English and Chinese
• Superior guest resolution and problem solving abilities are required
• Bachelor's Degree in related field is required
