Job summary

Bank in Hong Kong seeks a Manager – Deposit & Clearing Operations to lead the deposits and clearing team within the Transactional Banking Unit. You will ensure accurate, timely processing of retail transactions and maintain regulatory compliance.

Ideal candidate brings 10+ years in commercial banking deposits, strong knowledge of HKICL and FPS real-time payments, and excellence in team leadership and stakeholder communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or above.
• At least 10 years of deposit operations experience in commercial banking.
• Good knowledge of HKICL, cheque clearing, auto-clearing systems and FPS real-time payments.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, and to advise stakeholders.
• A pleasant personality with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Good written and spoken English and Chinese, especially Mandarin; MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily retail banking transactions including deposits, transfers, time deposits and cheque clearing.
• Review and monitor electronic and auto-clearing systems for accuracy and timeliness.
• Address customer and unit enquiries with professional advice on deposits and clearing.
• Collaborate with other departments to improve efficiency and controls.
• Train and develop the team; drive process improvements and service quality.
• Prepare operational and performance reports; participate in UAT, projects and ad hoc tasks.
