Chico Hill Limited in Hong Kong is seeking an experienced Head Barista to lead our beverage operations, train junior staff, and maintain top-quality espresso drinks in a busy hospitality setting.

You will supervise a barista team, refine service standards, and ensure cleanliness, consistency, and a memorable customer experience across shifts including mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends.

Formación

• Minimum 3-5 years of professional barista experience, ideally with 1-2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
• Advanced knowledge of espresso machines, grinders, and other speciality coffee equipment.
• Demonstrable expertise in milk steaming, latte art, and crafting specialty coffee beverages.
• Strong understanding of coffee bean varieties, origins, roasting profiles, and flavour characteristics.

Responsabilidades

• Prepare and serve high-quality espresso-based beverages, specialty coffees, and other drinks with precision and artistry
• Lead and supervise barista team members, ensuring consistent quality standards and adherence to operational procedures
• Train and develop junior baristas on proper espresso machine operation, milk steaming techniques, latte art, and customer service excellence
• Maintain all coffee equipment in optimal working condition, conducting routine cleaning and maintenance checks
• Manage beverage inventory, including coffee beans, syrups, milk, and other supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels
• Create and execute seasonal beverage menus, experimenting with new flavours and specialty drinks
• Maintain impeccable standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the beverage preparation area
• Build rapport with customers, taking orders efficiently whilst delivering personalised service recommendations
• Collaborate with management to optimise workflow and resolve any operational challenges
• Uphold brand standards and contribute to a welcoming atmosphere that encourages repeat business

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Barista to lead our beverage operations. This is a full-time position that offers a unique opportunity to showcase your expertise in coffee preparation, espresso-based drinks, and barista craft whilst managing and mentoring a team. As Head Barista, you will be instrumental in maintaining the highest standards of beverage quality, consistency, and presentation, setting the tone for an exceptional customer experience across our establishment.

What we're looking for

• Exceptional attention to detail with a commitment to consistency and quality in every beverage served
• Proven ability to lead, motivate, and mentor team members in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a genuine passion for customer service
• Physical capability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks with precision
• Relevant certifications such as SCA (Speciality Coffee Association) qualifications are highly desirable
• Flexibility to work shifts including mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends as required
• Experience in a busy, hospitality-driven environment with exposure to diverse customer bases
