Job summary

Nityo Infotech in Hong Kong is seeking a senior software engineer to develop and maintain an end-to-end application stack including frontend, backend and cloud infrastructure.

You will participate in architectural design discussions, contribute to new features, conduct code reviews, and mentor cross-functional teams while upholding security and coding standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of work experience, ideally close to 10 years in technical engineering.
• Open to any background, but preferably experience from insurance.
• Strong JAVA skills and/or cloud environment expertise.
• Trilingual ability: English, Mandarin and Cantonese.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain end-to-end application stack including frontend, backend and cloud infra.
• Participate in architectural design discussions and contribute to new features.

• Debug and resolve issues with cross-functional teams.
• Apply security best practices: authentication, authorization, encryption, threat mitigation.
• Write clean, well-documented code following standards.
• Manage vendors to ensure timely, high-quality deliverables.
• Contribute to Agile SCRUM planning and delivery of user stories.
• Provide production support during non-office hours as required.

Job description

• Solid in JAVA and/or cloud environment
• Trilingual – English and Chinese including both Mandarin and Cantonese

• Conduct code reviews to ensure quality and follow industry norms.
• Debug and resolve technical issues and bugs in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Apply best practices for system security, including authentication, authorization, encryption, and threat mitigation.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code adhering to industry standards.
• Manage vendor to ensure timely, high-quality and cost-effective deliverables
• Contribute to Agile planning and delivery of user stories in a SCRUM environment
• Provide production support during non-office hours as required.

Requirement

• Minimum 5 years of work experience, ideally close to 10 years of technical engineering experience
• Open to any background, but preferably also from insurance
• Solid in JAVA and/or cloud environment
• Trilingual – English and Chinese including both Mandarin and Cantonese
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Solid experience or technical knowledge of Alibaba cloud, Polar DB, AI technologies are an advantage
• Experience with DevOps, RESTful API design, CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins) and version control.
• Strong understanding of performance optimization and coding standard
• Collaborative mindset with ability to coach, mentor and lead teams.
• Experiments with emerging technologies and understanding how they will impact what comes next.
• Familiarity with insurance industry and claims systems is a plus.
• Experience managing sizable projects or programs is preferable
