Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/SE or related field.
• 5+ years software engineering; 8-10 years full-stack preferred.
• Hands-on Java and cloud-based development experience.
• Proficient in Angular, React, Node.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, RESTful APIs.
• Experience with Azure, AKS, and databases; exposure to Alibaba Cloud is a plus.
• Strong DevOps, CI/CD, version control, and secure coding practices.
• Experience leading vendors and external teams.
• Insurance domain experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and maintenance of end-to-end application solutions across frontend, backend, and cloud infrastructure.
• Participate in architecture design discussions and drive implementation of new features and enhancements.
• Ensure high-quality software delivery through code reviews, governance, and best practices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues with cross-functional teams and vendors.

The Successful Applicant

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of software engineering experience, with preference for candidates possessing 8-10 years of full-stack development experience and prior technical leadership responsibilities.
• Strong hands-on experience in Java and/or cloud-based application development environments.
• Proficiency in modern full-stack technologies such as Angular, React, Node.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, RESTful APIs, and microservices architecture.
• Experience with Azure Cloud services, AKS, Azure databases, or other major cloud platforms; exposure to Alibaba Cloud and PolarDB is an advantage.
• Solid understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, Git-based version control, and automated deployment processes.
• Strong knowledge of application security, performance optimization, coding standards, and software engineering best practices.
• Proven experience managing vendors and coordinating external development teams.
• Ability to work independently, influence technical decisions, and mentor team members.
• Exposure to AI-related technologies, solutions, or projects is highly desirable.
• Experience within the insurance industry, particularly in claims-related systems and processes, is a plus.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and project delivery skills, with experience managing sizeable projects or programs preferred.
