ADYRO is a premium comfort-footwear brand building on more than 15 years of experience. We design from the inside out, focusing on fit, feel and function, then a refined silhouette, with direct-to-consumer and wholesale partners across Europe and the USA.
We are expanding a small product team to translate a clear design language into commercially relevant ranges. A direct role in shaping how an international footwear brand looks and feels in market.
You will design footwear and develop color, material, texture and finish directions through physical samples. The role includes silhouette concepts, proportion changes and product improvements when the line plan calls for them. Most day-to-day briefs begin with an approved or existing style and ask which combinations make it commercially stronger for a specific customer, channel or market. The largest part of the workload is color, material and finish design. You will research consumers and competitors, visit relevant retail markets, material markets, trade fairs and suppliers, build focused combinations and follow them through factory-ready specifications and samples. You are the design-side right hand of the Head of Design & Development, working closely with the factory-side Technical Footwear Developer and China office.
Create colorways, material combinations, textures, treatments and finish details on approved footwear bases
Develop footwear concepts, proportions and upper details for selected new-product briefs
Visit relevant retail markets, material markets, trade fairs and suppliers; turn observations into focused design recommendations
Translate retailer and market differences into coherent proposals without fragmenting the ADYRO range
Produce clear sketches, 2D renderings, specifications and factory-ready callouts
Source and evaluate traceable materials, swatches, prints, treatments and color standards
Work with the China office and Technical Developer on feasibility, cost and sample corrections
Review samples for proportion, color, texture, material and finish
Protect breathability, sub-USD-100 value, ADYRO restraint and material availability
At least three years of commercial footwear design experience; a stronger portfolio or repeat freelance clients may outweigh years of experience
Excellent proportion, color, material, texture and finish judgment
Strong color, material and finish work on existing footwear bases, plus credible footwear concepts or product improvements
Curiosity and discipline in researching retail markets, consumers, competitors, materials and suppliers
Fluency in footwear drawings, rendering, factory-ready communication and sample follow-through
Understanding of materials, production limitations and cost implications
Independent recommendations and willingness to challenge weak directions
Clear English; Mandarin is useful
Asia residence and frequent China-office or Jinjiang access
Premium, Italian, heritage or higher-quality fashion-footwear experience is useful
