The Wellbeing Group (HK) Company Limited is seeking a Finance Manager to take full ownership of the accounting for its Hong Kong entities, ensuring records are accurate, complete and up to date.
You will manage day-to-day finance operations including AP, payroll-related accounting, payments and general ledger activities, and lead month-end and year-end closing with inter-company reconciliations. English and Chinese communication skills are preferred.
Take full ownership of the full set of accounts for the Hong Kong entities, ensuring accounting records are accurate, complete and up to date.
Manage day-to-day finance operations, including accounts payable, employee reimbursements, payments, payroll-related accounting and general ledger activities.
Perform month-end and year-end closing, including accruals, prepayments, inter-company transactions and balance sheet reconciliations.
Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports for Group Finance.
Monitor and control operating expenses and overall costs of the Hong Kong entities, including payroll, office expenses, professional fees, marketing expenses and other business-related costs.
Perform budget vs. actual analysis, identify significant variances or unusual expenses, and provide timely explanations to management.
Review expense and payment requests to ensure proper supporting documentation, business purpose, approval and accounting treatment.
Manage bank reconciliations, cash flow and payment arrangements, ensuring appropriate controls over company funds.
Identify and properly account for expenses incurred on behalf of Group companies or other related entities, and support inter-company reconciliation, cost allocation and recharge where required.
Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, accounting firms and other professional service providers on statutory audits, tax filings and other compliance matters.
Ensure compliance with applicable Hong Kong accounting, tax and statutory requirements.
Maintain and continuously improve internal controls and finance procedures, particularly in relation to payments, expenses and employee reimbursements.
Support annual budgeting, forecasting and other financial analysis as required.
Work closely with Group Finance and provide timely visibility on financial performance, cash position, significant expenses and potential financial risks.
Requirements
Degree holder in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting and finance experience, with solid experience gained in a financial institution, financial services company or other regulated financial business.
Hands-on experience in independently managing the full set of accounts for Hong Kong entities.
Solid experience in month-end closing, financial reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, accounts payable and expense management.
Good understanding of Hong Kong accounting practices, statutory audit and tax requirements.
Experience working directly with external auditors, tax advisors and accounting firms.
Strong cost awareness and analytical skills, with the ability to identify unusual transactions, significant cost movements and potential financial issues.
Able and willing to handle both day-to-day accounting work and higher-level financial review and analysis.
Strong sense of ownership, responsibility and attention to detail.
Able to work independently and manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
Proficient in MS Excel and experienced with accounting or ERP systems.
Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese.
Professional accounting qualification such as HKICPA, ACCA or equivalent is an advantage.
