Factory Floor Project Engineer – From Prototype to Production

Job summary

Canopy is seeking a Project Engineer in Hong Kong to carry programs from prototype through mass production, working with contract manufacturers in Shenzhen, Dongguan, and Xiamen on tooling, sample builds, and validation. You will own the quality side of that work, defining acceptance criteria, running EVT, DVT, and PVT builds, and holding the line at pre-shipment inspection before product ships.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in mechanical engineering and manufacturing for consumer products.
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Quality Engineering, or related field.
• Expert in injection mold tooling design and DFM.
• Toolkit: FMEA, DOE, root cause analysis, AQL, PSI.
• Hands-on CAD in Onshape or SolidWorks to modify parts.
• Experience with plastics and consumer electronics.
• Fluent English plus Cantonese and Mandarin; US/EU experience is a plus.
• Willingness to travel ~50%.

Responsibilities

• Transform US designs into manufacturable parts and optimize CAD for tooling and cost.
• Plan and run EVT, DVT and PVT at the factory with gates and data capture.
• Define failure modes and perform FMEA; drive root cause analysis.
• Lead PSI protocols and sampling plans with QC team.
• Collaborate with US design, HK supply chain, and factories.
