Job summary

Jefferies seeks an Associate for the China/Hong Kong Financial Institutions equity research team to support the franchise with financial modeling, sector and company analysis, and client engagement.

The role focuses on delivering high-quality research output, ensuring accuracy, independence, and compliance in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Fluency in English is required, with Mandarin a plus for regional interaction.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant equity research experience.
• Experience in FIG sector preferred.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy under deadlines.
• Strong financial modeling, accounting, and valuation skills.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
• Fluent in English; Mandarin a plus for regional interactions.

Responsibilities

• Support team's coverage across banks, insurance, and diversified financials.
• Maintain models and databases; retrieve and analyze information from company filings and external data source.
• Monitor company announcements, industry news flow, macro, and policy developments closely.
• Conduct fundamental research on listed companies, including financial analysis, earning forecasting, valuation, and investment recommendation.
• Draft timely company updates and high-quality research reports on industry developments and long-term thematic trends.
• Contribute to franchise-building initiatives through thematic projects and regional collaborations.
• Respond promptly to requests for data, analysis, financial models, and bespoke research.
