Job summary

Jefferies Hong Kong seeks a high-caliber Investment Banking Analyst / Associate to join our team, focusing on General Industrials transactions across Asia. You will work with senior bankers and clients on M&A, capital raising, and strategic advisory, contributing to deal origination and execution.

The role requires strong financial modelling, valuation, and presentation skills, with Mandarin fluency; prior IB experience in M&A or capital markets is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Accounting or related discipline; MBA/CFA advantageous.
• 3–4 years of IB experience, with exposure to M&A, capital markets, leveraged finance or related transactions.
• Prior General Industrials sector coverage preferred; strong transaction experience in other sectors accepted.
• Advanced financial modelling and valuation capabilities.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with senior stakeholders.

Job description

We are seeking a high-caliber Investment Banking Analyst / Associate to join our Hong Kong team, with a primary focus on transactions within the General Industrials sector across Asia.

This individual will play an integral role in the execution of M&A transactions, capital raising initiatives, and strategic advisory assignments, working closely with senior bankers and corporate clients across the region.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support senior deal teams in the origination, structuring, and execution of mergers and acquisitions, equity and debt capital markets transactions, and broader strategic advisory mandates within the Industrials sector.
• Perform detailed industry and company research, financial analysis, and valuation assessments to support transaction execution and business development initiatives.
• Develop and maintain complex financial models, valuation analyses, client presentations, pitch materials, and other transaction-related documentation.
• Coordinate due diligence activities, manage virtual data rooms, and collaborate with legal, compliance, and internal stakeholders to facilitate efficient transaction execution.
• Build and strengthen relationships with clients, investors, and industry participants to support franchise growth and identify new business opportunities.
• Contribute to the development of junior team members by providing mentorship, guidance, and on-the-job training where appropriate.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Accounting, or a related discipline; MBA and / or CFA qualifications are advantageous.
• Approximately 3-4 years of relevant investment banking experience, with exposure to M&A, capital markets, leveraged finance, or broader corporate finance transactions.
• Prior experience covering the General Industrials sector is preferred; however, candidates with strong transaction experience across other industry verticals will also be considered.
• Advanced financial modelling, valuation, and analytical capabilities.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with senior stakeholders.
• Proven ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, high‑performance environment while managing multiple priorities and tight deadlines.
• Fluency in Mandarin is essential.
