Job summary

Global Executive Consultants Ltd. in Hong Kong seeks an Application Architect for a leading bank to define end-to-end architecture, ensuring scalability and high availability across enterprise-grade applications.

You will lead technical design, drive integration with core banking systems and fintech APIs, and enforce security and regulatory governance while guiding teams through modern cloud-based solutions.

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 3 years in an Application Architect, Solutions Architect, or Tech Lead role.
• Banking Expertise: Proven track record working within a commercial bank, investment bank, or financial institution.
• Domain Knowledge: Deep understanding of banking ecosystems, such as payment gateways, core banking processing, transaction ledgers, or credit/lending systems.
• Architecture Patterns: Strong proficiency in microservices, event-driven architecture, Domain-Driven Design, and API design. Cloud & DevSecOps: Hands-on experience with cloud platforms and containerization ecosystems.
• Data Management: Relational databases, NoSQL databases, and distributed caching mechanisms.
• Security & Compliance: Familiarity with PCI-DSS, SOC2, or local banking guidelines.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Professional certifications in cloud architecture.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Architectural Design & Strategy: Define the end-to-end architecture for enterprise-grade applications, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, scalability, and high availability.
• Banking Systems Integration: Design robust integration patterns for legacy banking systems, core banking platforms, and modern third-party APIs or fintech solutions.
• Governance & Compliance: Ensure all application architectures strictly adhere to financial regulatory standards, data privacy laws, and corporate security policies.
• Technical Leadership: Partner with product managers and lead engineers to translate complex business needs into clean technical blueprints, system diagrams, and documentation.
• Technology Evaluation: Evaluate emerging technologies, frameworks, and cloud services to modernize existing infrastructure while minimizing technical debt. Security Architecture: Implement rigorous security frameworks, including zero-trust principles, secure identity management and end-to-end data encryption.
