Overview

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical / Building Services Engineer to join our growing team. The successful candidate will play a key role in the delivery of MEP engineering services across building, mission-critical and infrastructure projects. The role combines hands‑on engineering design and technical review with multidisciplinary coordination, client and contractor engagement, and construction‑stage. The level of appointment will be determined based on the candidate’s technical capability, project leadership experience and professional qualifications.

Your role

  • Lead and coordinate MEP design activities through feasibility, concept, detailed design, tender and construction stages.
  • Prepare and review engineering calculations, design reports, specifications, equipment schedules, drawings and other technical deliverables.
  • Provide technical input on mechanical / building services design, including air‑conditioning, ventilation, chilled‑water systems, heat‑load calculations, equipment selection, plantroom planning, spatial coordination and controls/BMS interfaces and power systems.
  • Ensure designs comply with project requirements, applicable statutory regulations, codes, standards and internal quality procedures.
  • Coordinate between project team members, clients, government, architect, and sub‑consultant to facilitate project implementation.
  • Review contractor submissions, shop drawings, material submissions, technical queries and design changes.
  • Conduct site surveys and inspections, support testing and commissioning activities, and follow technical and construction issues through to closure.
  • Manage assigned deliverables, program, resources, technical risks and project budgets, with timely escalation of scope or commercial issues.
  • Identify opportunities, lead and support business development and work winning / bidding activities.
  • Establish, develop and maintain relationships with key existing and prospective clients.
  • Supervise and mentor engineers and junior team members, ensuring consistent technical quality and effective teamwork.

About you

  • Degree holder or above in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 3-8 years of post‑graduate experience in mechanical, electrical or building services engineering, preferably within an engineering consultancy.
  • Experience in technically complex projects, design‑and‑build projects or construction‑stage technical support will be an advantage.
  • Professional qualifications such as HKIE, CIBSE, IMechE, IET or equivalent will be an advantage.
  • Good understanding of Hong Kong statutory requirements, design standards, submission procedures and construction practices.
  • Demonstrated experience in design coordination, technical reviews, contractor submission reviews, site inspections, testing and commissioning, and resolution of construction‑stage issues.
  • Able to lead assigned work independently, exercise sound engineering judgement and deliver high‑quality outputs within agreed program and budget constraints.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder‑management skills, with the ability to work constructively with clients, contractors, multidisciplinary teams and junior colleagues.
  • Collaborative, responsive and practical, with a positive working attitude and willingness to take ownership of assigned tasks.
  • Hands‑on experience in setting up, running and interpreting Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analyses will be an advantage.
  • Familiarity with AI‑enabled tools and digital workflows that enhance design quality and delivery efficiency.
