Job summary

Optimum Solutions (Hong Kong) Limited in Hong Kong is recruiting for Electronic Trading - Application Support to back trading systems across APAC, with emphasis on Linux platforms and market connectivity.

The role requires 1–2 years trading support experience, an IT major degree, and hands-on scripting in Linux and Python, plus strong communication and problem-solving skills to support traders and ensure smooth operations.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of cash and derivatives products and market rules.
• Experience with system monitoring and Linux/Unix environments.
• Proficiency in Python on Linux/Windows platforms.
• Good communication and problem‑solving skills.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for trading applications on APAC markets in Linux.
• Support traders, troubleshoot production issues, and diagnose faults.
• Manage daily production problems and communicate resolutions to clients.
• Lead or participate in business-driven or exchange-driven projects.
• Perform QA testing, deployments, and system upgrades.
• Monitor system performance and address operational issues.
• Follow ITIL incident escalation and change management procedures.
• Produce system and process documentation.

Job description

Electronic Trading - Application Support

The EQD ES TS team provides support for the electronic trading platforms, including applications support and market connectivity, used by EQD traders in HK and some smaller sites across APAC.

Key responsibilities

Be responsible for the trading applications of Equities & Derivatives Trading/Pricing (Stocks, ETF, Warrants, Options & Futures) on various APAC markets in Linux platform

Required to support traders, troubleshoot and diagnose functional and technical issues in the production environment

Management and tracking of daily production problems and user request; ensure effective and timely resolution and communication to the client; report bugs back to local / overseas development teams.

Be responsible for handling business-driven or exchange-driven projects

Conduct system Quality Assurance testing, perform deployment or upgrade of mission critical trading applications and systems.

Ensure adequate performance and operation of the systems - monitor the performance ⁄ operation, diagnose and address any problems.

Follow ITIL Application Support methodology to carry out incident escalation and system change management procedures.

Provide system and process documentation

Morning / Lunch shift duty, weekend and holiday work are required as per rotation.
