Catalyst24 is seeking a field role based at a data center project site in Hong Kong. The technician will support transformer pre-energization, assist on-site testing during commissioning, and perform post-operation maintenance inspections to ensure safe and reliable commissioning.
Work closely with the General Contractor, Commissioning Agent, and client operations team to ensure equipment meets energization conditions.
This position is based at a data center project site in Hong Kong, responsible for transformer pre-energization support, on-site testing assistance, and post-operation maintenance inspections. The candidate will work closely with the General Contractor, Commissioning Agent, and the client's operations team to ensure equipment is safely and reliably commissioned.
Service Client: This position will be assigned to support a leading data center operator in Southeast Asia, participating in the commissioning and maintenance of its large-scale data center project in Hong Kong.
Assist in completing pre-energization inspections for transformers. Verify that equipment installation, wiring, component integrity, and protection device status meet the conditions for energization, and document/report findings accordingly.
Support the General Contractor and Commissioning Agent during equipment testing and commissioning, including TOI (Turnover Inspection) and CX (Commissioning) phases. Assist with on-site testing and data recording for transformer-related test items. In the event of abnormalities during energization or testing, report promptly, assist in troubleshooting, and support issue resolution. Complete post-energization equipment status inspections and parameter verification.
Carry out routine inspections and preventive maintenance for transformers as per the maintenance schedule. Monitor equipment operating conditions (temperature, humidity, appearance, voltage, current, etc.) to identify potential risks. Document and report any abnormalities (unusual noise, abnormal equipment status, loose bolts, etc.) in a timely manner. Coordinate with the client's operations team on outage windows and maintenance scheduling when repairs or component replacements are required.
All on-site work is performed in accordance with established MOPs (Method of Procedure) and supporting Checklists. Personnel must complete mandatory safety and operational training before commencing site work. Technicians are required to strictly follow each step of the procedure and use the checklist to verify equipment status and critical parameters, completing all inspection and documentation tasks. All records must be signed off to ensure full traceability.
MOPs are prepared in advance by the factory technical team, while on- site personnel are responsible for execution, anomaly recording, and feedback.
