Job summary

Toshiba TEC Singapore Pte Ltd is seeking a motivated engineer to conduct product evaluation and verification testing, troubleshoot failures, and support product development and continuous improvement.

In this role you will evaluate components from AVL, document test results, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance product quality and reliability. Experience in microcontroller-based design and BOM management is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field is required.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in product design and development, including microcontroller/microprocessor-based design.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in product testing, failure analysis, and use of test equipment for troubleshooting.
• Strong knowledge of electronic components, circuit fundamentals, and ability to read engineering drawings/schematics.
• Familiarity with mechanical control systems and interfaces such as SPI, I2C, RS232, Parallel, USB, and SATA.
• Experience in BOM management, component selection, or value engineering.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.

Job Description:

• Conduct product evaluation and verification testing following established test plans and document results for analysis and future reference
• Perform failure analysis and troubleshoot defective products and components to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions
• Evaluate and select components from the Approved Vendor List (AVL) by comparing specifications to support value engineering and alternative sourcing initiatives
• Prepare, maintain, and update technical documentation, including assembly drawings, parts drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOM)
• Analyze test data and provide recommendations to improve product performance, quality, and reliability
• Provide technical and documentation support during prototype builds, production sample builds, and product development activities
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues and support continuous product improvement

Job Requirements:
