Job summary

Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong is seeking a Duty Engineer to join the Engineer team. The role focuses on maintaining guest facilities and supporting Front of House and back-of-house operations, with supervision responsibilities for Trade Foremen and Technicians.

The Duty Engineer reports to the Building Services Engineer. The position requires holding essential electrical licenses, a minimum of 5 years in a similar role, and shift-work capability, with fluency in English and Chinese.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience in a similar position.
• Experience in luxury hotels or club houses is advantageous.
• Holder of Electrical Worker License Grade A or above and Construction Industry Safety Training Certificate are required.
• Shift work is required.
• Good communication skills and good command of written English & Chinese.

Responsibilities

• Comply with Fire, Life, Health, Safety, Security (FLHSS) Standards to maintain a proper and safe work area.
• Perform Emergency Response Team duties.
• Carry out maintenance work according to the hotel plan.
• Maintain, repair, inspect and record all hotel equipment.
• Supervise and support the Plant Technician.
• Liaise with other departments & contractors.

About the job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong within Engineer in Hong Kong, the Duty Engineer is responsible to toward Front of House and Services directly affecting the Guest and Back of House support. He is however expected to actively supervise, support and assist the Trade Foremen and all Technicians. The Duty Engineer will be Service Orientated and flexible enough to support both the Guest and in-house Colleagues needs alike. The Duty Engineer reports to the Building Services Engineer.

As Duty Engineer, you will be responsible for the following duties:
