Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in PR, communications or social media within luxury hospitality, lifestyle, fashion or premium brands.
  • Global media network and influencer/KOL ecosystem knowledge with multi-market leadership.
  • Strategic PR and communications expertise with strong luxury brand sensibility.
  • Deep understanding of media, influencer and digital ecosystems and managing agency partners.
  • Degree in communications, PR, journalism, marketing, hospitality, or related field (or equivalent senior-level experience).
  • Strategic, composed and commercially minded with leadership presence to influence senior stakeholders across geographies.
  • Fluent English (written and spoken); additional languages (Chinese, French) are an advantage.
  • Willingness to travel across time zones to support global properties.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead the global consumer PR strategy aligned to brand positioning and priorities.
  • Build relationships with top-tier international media, editors and opinion leaders to drive earned coverage.
  • Lead brand storytelling across PR, social and influencer channels with brand, marketing and property teams.
  • Own the global social media strategy to drive growth, engagement and luxury standards.
  • Define and manage a global influencer and KOL framework and relationships.
  • Oversee the global PR agency ecosystem including scope, performance and appointments.
  • Set and track KPIs across PR, influence and social channels.
  • Evaluate campaigns, partnerships and agency ROI with actionable reporting.

Job description

Director, Public Relations and Influence

We are working with an ultra-luxury hotel brand headquartered in Hong Kong, they are seeking an accomplished public relations leader to build and deliver the Group’s global public relations, influence and social media strategy, working across Head Office, individual properties and agency partners to bring brand stories to life to the highest standards of luxury hospitality.

This newly created role reports directly to the SVP, Brand and Communications, and carries responsibility for a small in-house team, alongside functional oversight of property-based PR directors and a global PR agency roster. Candidates from either an in-house or agency background will be considered, provided they bring an established network among top-tier luxury media, editors, influencers and cultural commentators.

Success in this role depends on strong storytelling instincts, editorial judgement, and the credibility to influence senior stakeholders and property teams outside the direct reporting line. Given the calibre of network required, this role will suit extensive experience in PR, communications or social media, gained within luxury hospitality, lifestyle, fashion or another premium brand environment.

Relocation to Hong Kong is required for this role, with relocation support provided.

What you’ll be doing as Director, Public Relations and Influence
  • Develop and lead the global consumer PR strategy, aligned to brand positioning, business priorities and the commercial calendar
  • Build relationships with top-tier international media, editors and opinion leaders to drive earned coverage and brand visibility in priority markets
  • Lead brand storytelling across PR, social and influencer channels, partnering with brand, marketing and property teams
  • Own the global social media strategy, driving audience growth, engagement and relevance while upholding luxury standards
  • Define and lead a global influencer and KOL framework, managing creators and tastemakers who enhance brand equity
  • Define and manage the global PR agency ecosystem, including scopes, performance and appointments across key markets
  • Set and track KPIs across PR, influence and social — including share of voice, reach, engagement and sentiment
  • Evaluate campaign, partnership and agency ROI, providing reporting and recommendations to improve impact
Background and Experience
  • Extensive experience in PR, communications or social media, with a proven track record in luxury hospitality, lifestyle, fashion or premium brands
  • Strong global media network and influencer/KOL ecosystem knowledge, with experience managing multi-market strategies and teams
  • Strategic PR and communications expertise, strong luxury brand sensibility, and excellent storytelling and editorial judgement
  • Deep understanding of media, influencer and digital ecosystems, with the ability to manage agency partners and performance metrics
  • Degree in communications, PR, journalism, marketing, hospitality, business or related field (or equivalent senior-level experience)
  • Strategic, composed and commercially minded, with strong leadership presence and the ability to influence senior stakeholders across geographies
  • Fluent written and spoken English with excellent editorial and presentation skills; additional languages (Chinese, French) an advantage
  • Ability to travel and work across time zones to support global properties, media activity and major brand moments
