Job summary

A leading financial regulator in Hong Kong seeks a Data Governance Specialist to drive organisation-wide governance initiatives and refine the Data Governance Framework. You will support metadata management, tagging, and data quality tools while advancing AI readiness and regulatory compliance.

The role requires 3+ years in data governance; strong SQL and Python skills; experience with data privacy and security controls is essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in data management and governance, preferably in tech or financial services.
• Hands-on with governance tools and platforms for metadata, tagging and quality.
• Proficient in SQL for data extraction and analysis; Python for processing.

Responsibilities

• Drive organisation-wide data governance initiatives as part of the Data Governance team.
• Support implementation and refinement of data governance framework, standards and controls.
• Assist in tool design for metadata management, data access, tagging and quality management.
• Promote unstructured data governance, ontology, taxonomy and AI readiness.
• Support data privacy, protection and security compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Monitor governance effectiveness and recommend continuous improvements.
