Job summary

Crossings Executive Search seeks a Data Governance Specialist for a Financial Institution in Hong Kong. The role focuses on implementing and refining the Enterprise Data Governance Framework, with emphasis on unstructured data governance and ontology management.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years in data governance, strong SQL skills, and bilingual fluency in Chinese and English. You will contribute to data tagging, metadata enrichment, and AI readiness initiatives.

Qualifications

• Degree holder in a relevant discipline.
• Over 4 years of data management and data governance experience.
• Proficiency in SQL for data extraction, transformation, profiling, and analysis.
• Experience in developing scripts or automation workflows to support data tagging, classification, metadata enrichment, or governance controls.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Fluent in Chinese and English.

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation and continuous refinement of the Enterprise Data Governance Framework, standards, and controls, particularly for unstructured data management.
• Assist in the design and optimisation of tools and technology for implementing data governance, including metadata management, data access workflow, auto-classification and tagging, and governance controls.
• Support the adoption of unstructured data governance practices, including establishing ontology and managing taxonomy, and driving organisation-wide data tagging to enhance discoverability and AI readiness.
