Data Center Operations Lead – IT & Resilience

Job summary

Airport Authority Hong Kong invites a skilled IT professional to join its IT Operations team on a fixed-term contract of at least 2 years. You will oversee data center operations, drive system monitoring improvements, and support resilience initiatives across enterprise platforms.

The role requires strong technical know-how in VMware, DCIM, and cloud platforms, plus English and Chinese communication skills. Driving license is preferred but not mandatory.

Qualifications

• Degree in computer science, engineering or related field.
• Minimum 3 years IT systems administration experience, with 1-2 years programming/shell scripting.
• Experience supporting VMware, SAN storage, DCIM, Telemetry Gateway, Dynatrace, ServiceNow or multi-vendor cloud platforms.
• ITIL v3+ certification preferred.
• Hong Kong driving license preferred.
• Strong analytical and communication skills in English and Chinese; Putonghua a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee hosting facilities contingency planning and drill execution.
• Lead sub-projects to enhance system monitoring for stable deployments.
• Manage daily data center operations, maintenance, and planning.
• Assess major changes with risk analyses to minimize user disruption.
• Develop and maintain O&M procedures and automation tools.
• Build OT dashboards and reports to support IT Operations decisions.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors and monitor performance.
• Contribute to the Resilient Enhancement Project per IT Ops standards.
