Contract Landscape Architect (CntLA)
Project: Kwu Tung North
Work Location: Kwu Tung North Construction Site
Job Duties
- Assisting the Project Manager or its delegate(s) in matters relating to government procedures, standards and the handling of contractual matters with respect to Landscape Works.
- Providing professional advice on Landscape Works, including landscape hardworks, landscape softworks, Establishment Works, tree works and tree risk assessment related matters.
- Investigating and assessing the site information / potential site constraints for the development projects.
- Planning and supervising the construction of landscape works, preservation and protection of existing trees and tree risk assessment.
- Monitoring landscape contractor's performance and assisting the Project Manager or its delegate(s) in preparing landscape contractor's performance report.
- Monitoring landscape contractor's progress according to the agreed programme, identify reasons of delay and advise the Project Manager or its delegate(s) on necessary regulatory actions, and make recommendations on technical matters.
- Providing professional advice and vetting on the submissions as required in pre-AIP stage, AIP stage and DDA stage as listed under clause 7 of Part III - Architectural Requirements of the Client's Requirements.
- Checking of Contractor's landscape submissions (including but not limited to materials, samples, laboratory test reports, method statements including temporary works and Establishment Works) against contract requirements/specifications, and provide comments to the Project Manager or its delegate(s).
- Coordinating with Architectural Services Department's staff, consultants, resident site staff, utility companies and other government departments on matters relating to landscape works including but not limited to interfaces with various trades/professions, hard and soft landscape detailing, materials and workmanship, builder's work requirements, statutory compliance etc.).
- Attending site coordination meetings, site audits and follow up the corrective actions on non-compliance for reporting to the Project Manager or its delegate(s).
- Assisting in preparing defects/snag lists, supervise and inspect rectification (including replanting) works for Completion and compliance, arrange pre-handover/handover meetings for landscape works upon:
- Completion of the Contract works
- Expiry of Establishment Period
Requirements
- A Professional Member or a Fellow Member of the Hong Kong Institute of Landscape Architects (HKILA); and a Registered Landscape Architect (RLA) of the Landscape Architects Registration Board (LARB) of Hong Kong under the Landscape Architects Registration Ordinance, or equivalent;
- Have at least 1 year of post-qualification experience. Contract administration and site supervision experience in Hong Kong government projects is preferred;
- Attain Level 2 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent (Note: Grade \"E\" in Chinese language and English language (syllabus B) in HKCEE before 2007 are accepted administratively as comparable to 'Level 2' Chinese language and English language 2007 HKCEE and henceforth); and
- Possess a valid Construction Industry Safety Training Certificate (Green Card) and is required to carry out site, site meeting and site measurement periodically related to the project.
