Job summary

China State Construction Engineering (Hong Kong) Limited is seeking a Resident Architect for the Kwu Tung North construction site. Qualified candidates must be Registered Architects in Hong Kong with a minimum of five years post-qualification experience in supervision and coordination of construction projects.

Responsibilities

Job Duties

• Watch and inspect, to test and examine materials used and workmanship employed in the architectural works on-site, off-site, at factories or other testing laboratories, to ensure that they are complying with the specifications, drawings and construction procedure with the assistance of the site supervisory staff;.
• Identify defective materials and workmanship in the architectural work not complying with the specification, drawings and construction procedure, and to coordinate appropriate tests on the defective architectural work;
• Communicate with the Project Manager and site supervisory staff on architectural work;
• Resolve on site architectural difficulties arising from unforeseen circumstances to allow the architectural works to progress with minimum disruption, and in case of action involving changes to accepted design, consult the Project Manager or his delegates;
• Report to the Project Manager or his delegates any matters of unusual aspect for direction;
• Maintain site record on architectural work and to coordinate the checking of architectural works on-site, off-site, at factories or other testing laboratories with the assistance of site supervisory staff;
• Monitor the progress and to produce timely information in advance of construction to avoid delay;
• Coordinate builder’s works requirements in connection to building services and deal with the consequential changes to architectural design and to produce sketch plans and working drawings;
• Submit for acceptance any architectural details, in particular any temporary work as required in this contract;
• Attend regular and ad hoc meetings;
• Assist the Project Manager or his delegates in the investigation and to prepare report on the acceptable or otherwise the use of materials;
• Prepare design, estimate and specification in collaboration with allied disciplines;
• Carry out the site safety management functions under the Authorized Person stream as outlined in the Technical Memorandum for Supervision Plans 2009 and detailed in the Code of Practice for Site Safety Supervision 2009;
• Carry out quality and qualified supervision for Modular Integrated Construction (MiC) and other off-site volumetric modules construction, manufacturing and/ or assembly process in factory controlled environment in accordance to Annex XXXI to Part III Architectural Requirement of the Client’s Requirements; and
• Undertake any other duties in connection with site construction activities.

Qualifications

RA shall be a Registered Architect in Hong Kong and shall have minimum 5 years relevant post-professional qualification experience in the supervision and coordination of construction projects.
