Job summary

Sun Hung Kai Properties Ltd (SHKP) is seeking an Assistant Cost and Contracts Manager on a contract basis in Hong Kong. The role involves liaising with consultants for QS duties, preparing feasibility studies, cost plans, budgets and value engineering to control costs across projects.

The ideal candidate has a civil/quantity surveying background with extensive experience in large-scale developments, pre/post contract management and procurement.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering/Quantity Surveying/Building Studies/Construction Management, or related.
• Membership of HKIS/RICS or equivalent is preferred.
• Minimum 15 years of quantity surveying experience with 3–5 years in supervision.
• Experience in civil/infrastructural works, especially MTR projects, is preferred.
• Proven track record managing large-scale residential/commercial/mixed-use developments.
• Strong pre/post contract QS management and procurement expertise.
• High commercial acumen with negotiation, financial analysis and strategic decision-making.
• Strong leadership, conflict resolution and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with Consultants for QS functions on infrastructural works.
• Prepare feasibility studies, preliminary estimates, cost plans and budgets.
• Manage value engineering to achieve cost control across projects.
• Formulate procurement strategies and prepare tender packages; evaluate tenders.
• Administer contracts ensuring regulatory and internal compliance.
• Review and manage monthly payments, variations, extensions of time and claims.
• Prepare cash flow forecasts, progress reports, cost-to-complete analyses and final accounts for senior management.
• Ensure alignment and coordination between internal teams, design consultants and the in-house project team.
