Job summary

Bank of China (Hong Kong) is seeking an experienced compliance and operational risk professional to oversee SEA and Hong Kong markets. The role focuses on coordinating regulatory compliance, incident reporting, and audit remediation to ensure robust risk governance.

You will conduct site visits, perform data-driven reviews, and guide remediation efforts across multiple jurisdictions, requiring strong English and Chinese communication and proficiency in MS Office and data-analysis tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level or higher education in a business-related field with preferred regulatory exposure.
• Experience in Compliance, Audit or Operational Risk in financial services or banking.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor the overall compliance and operational risk for the Southeast Asia (SEA) and Hong Kong market.
• Oversee audit rectification and keep tracking their effectiveness.
• Oversee incident reporting processes and ensuring appropriate escalation.
• Conduct site visits to SEA markets to assess local execution of policies, identify potential risks, and provide actionable recommendations.
• Utilize data analysis and thematic reviews to proactively identify emerging risk areas and trends.
• Coordinate routine control assurance reviews and comprehensive monitoring of business activities.
• Manage the operational compliance risk management lifecycle, including:
• Providing expert consultation on operational manuals and product due diligence.
• Performing gap analysis of internal processes against external regulations.
• Guiding the follow-up and implementation of remedial and mitigation measures for identified risk and incidents.
• Implementing and refining operational risk management tools such as KRI.
• Conducting thorough risk assessments for business outsourcing and insourcing arrangements.
