Job summary

Bank of China (Hong Kong) invites applications for a Compliance/Risk role based in Hong Kong. The successful candidate will assist in formulating compliance standards, monitor regulatory changes, and support risk management across branch operations.

Key responsibilities include updating compliance systems, conducting risk assessments, coordinating with Head Office and local regulators such as HKMA and SFC, and providing timely recommendations to management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or above degree in Finance, Economics, Data Science, Law or related fields.
• Knowledge of financial markets products and overseas bond issuance.
• Compliance or risk management experience.
• Fluent Cantonese with written and spoken English; Mandarin preferred.
• At least 1 year of relevant work experience.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Office software; VBA; SQL; Python; Power BI/Tableau; Snowflake/SAP BO; Statistical Modeling; Machine Learning.

Responsibilities

• Assist the head in formulating compliance standards, plans and objectives.
• Streamline compliance processes and design authorization systems.
• Monitor regulatory developments and assess impacts on Branch operations.
• Revise branch systems and processes; provide compliance recommendations.
• Identify and manage compliance and operational risks; conduct regular evaluations and reports.
• Coordinate trade monitoring and surveillance; review monitoring systems.
• Coordinate reporting to Head Office and liaise with HKMA, SFC and regulators; assist in communications with SAFE, CBRC, PBOC.
