Job summary

Happy Life Education Foundation Limited in Hong Kong seeks an Assistant Teacher of Chinese to support the Chinese department, delivering elements of the curriculum under supervision, preparing materials, and setting up classrooms for IBDP, A-Level and school-based Chinese programs.

You will provide small-group and individual support for students with different language backgrounds, assist in differentiated tasks, and help with speaking and writing practice.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Education, Early Childhood Education, Chinese Studies, or a related field preferred.
• Native or near-native fluency in Mandarin Chinese, with fluent spoken and written English.

Responsibilities

• Teach and support in class under supervision, assist planning and preparation of teaching materials and classroom setup for IBDP, A-Level and school-based Chinese curricula.
• Provide small-group and individual support for students with varying language backgrounds, including CAL.
• Support differentiated and tiered tasks, assist with exercises, assignments, and speaking/writing practice.
• Monitor student wellbeing and behaviour, report concerns to homeroom or relevant teacher, model positive behaviour.
• Prepare and manage learning materials, resources, and classroom displays; assist with curriculum planning and events.
• Communicate effectively with homeroom teachers, Chinese subject teachers, and leadership team; assist in communicating student progress with parents.
• Participate in evaluation and professional development; seek growth through workshops and training; uphold safeguarding policy.
