Job summary

Happy Life Education Foundation Limited seeks an Assistant Teacher of Science to support teachers in delivering Biology, Chemistry, and Physics activities. The role includes preparing materials, providing small-group support, and helping with assessment feedback.

The successful candidate will assist with laboratory setup, safety, and inventory, while promoting a safe, inclusive bilingual learning environment for students.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Education, Science, Life Sciences, or related field preferred.
• Native or near-native fluency in English (primary language of instruction); Mandarin Chinese preferred for local communication.
• 1+ year of teaching or teaching-assistant experience; 3+ years preferred.
• Relevant teaching certification; experience in international/bilingual or Science teaching settings preferred.
• Laboratory or practical-support experience is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Assist Science subject teachers in preparing and delivering lessons (Biology, Chemistry, Physics).
• Provide small-group and one-on-one Science support and timely feedback.
• Marking, feedback, and tracking student learning data; prepare assessment materials.
• Prepare laboratory equipment, reagents, and resources; supervise practical lessons.
• Maintain laboratory safety and equipment inventory; ensure proper storage of apparatus.
• Communicate student progress with homeroom/teachers and parents when appropriate.
• Participate in curriculum planning and school events such as science fairs or inquiry days.
• Model positive behaviour and foster an inclusive learning environment.
