Job summary

South Island School, part of English Schools Foundation (ESF) in Hong Kong, seeks a Part-Time Educational Assistant for the Chinese Department. You will assist students in learning Putonghua and support classroom teachers to improve student access to the curriculum.

Native Putonghua with fluency in English is required; Cantonese is an advantage. Strong communication and ICT skills are essential, and prior experience with children is desirable. Immediate availability is preferred.

Qualifications

• Native or near-native Putonghua and fluent English are essential.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven ability to work effectively within a team environment.
• Strong ICT skills, with emphasis on online teaching tools and platforms.
• Previous experience working with children in an educational setting is highly desirable.
• Candidates who are immediately available will be given preference.

Responsibilities

• Support students with Chinese learning in school.
• Support students to maximize their achievements within the curriculum.
• Support teachers with the aim of increasing students access to and attainment within the school curriculum.
• Perform any other duties as and when assigned by Line Managers.
