Job summary

The Hong Kong Jockey Club is seeking an Executive Manager, Charities, to lead strategic portfolios within the HKJC Charities Trust. You will drive social impact by shaping funding strategies and managing Trust-funded programmes in collaboration with government, NGOs, and academia.

As a senior leader, you will guide a team of Charities Managers and Officers, ensure governance and measurement, and expand cross-sector partnerships to address Hong Kong's pressing social challenges.

Qualifications

• University degree in a relevant discipline.
• Minimum 20 years of leadership experience in philanthropy, social impact, public policy, community development, nonprofit management, or related sectors.
• Experience designing and managing complex programmes delivering measurable social outcomes.
• Strong understanding of Hong Kong's social development landscape.
• Experience building multi-sector partnerships with diverse stakeholders.
• Proven ability to influence senior decision-makers.
• Strong strategic thinking, project management, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience leading professional teams in complex environments.
• Financial and commercial acumen; excellent communication and relationship-building.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and evaluation of Trust-funded and Trust-initiated projects to create meaningful and sustainable social impact in Hong Kong.
• Identify emerging community needs, service gaps, and opportunities, and develop innovative initiatives and partnerships to address them.
• Manage and oversee a substantial funding portfolio, ensuring effective governance, resource allocation, and impact measurement.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government bodies, NGOs, academic institutions, philanthropic organizations, community leaders, and regional and international partners.
• Provide strategic advice and recommendations on funding applications, portfolio priorities, and investment approaches to support decision-making by the Board of Trustees.
• Drive cross-sector collaboration and collective impact initiatives that advance the Trust's strategic objectives.
• Lead, develop, and inspire a team of professionals, fostering a high-performance, collaborative, and purpose-driven culture.
• Contribute to the effective management and continuous development of the Charities & Community Division, including organisational capability building and knowledge sharing.
• Promote the impact and thought leadership of the Trust through stakeholder engagement, communications, and participation in local, regional, and global networks.
• Support the Club's values and cultural aspirations, promoting collaboration, innovation, and community impact.
