Job summary

The Hong Kong Jockey Club is seeking a Senior Manager for Charities (Data Science / Impact Lab) to drive impact measurement and reporting for the Charities and Community division. You will develop strategic plans, conduct research, analyze data, and prepare communications on the social impact of HKJC's philanthropic efforts.

Qualifications

  • Master degree or equivalent with strong statistics/data/decision science/engineering background.
  • Minimum eight years of relevant experience in not-for-profit sector, including project evaluation, strategy and data analysis.
  • Confidential handling of high-sensitivity information; strong analytic and presentation skills.
  • Professional qualifications in research and/or statistics; multi-task project management experience.
  • Genuine interest in charitable work and community well-being.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, plan, and implement impact measurement and reporting initiatives for C&C.

The Division

The Charities and Community (C&C) Division manages strategic planning, grant donations, impactful project initiation, community engagement, and the day-to-day operations of the HKJC Charities Trust. C&C works with the Government, NGOs, and community partners to proactively identify root causes of social issues and address them through innovative approaches and cross-sectoral collaboration.

Job Summary

Reporting to Deputy Executive Manager ("DEM"), Charities (Strategy and Development), the job holder will support development, planning and implementation of impact measurement and reporting initiatives of C&C. He or she will develop strategic plans, conduct research, analyse data, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and prepare reports and communication materials on positive impact created by C&C's philanthropic efforts.

The Job
  • Develop, plan, and implement impact measurement and reporting initiatives of C&C.
  • Work closely with internal terms to integrate impact measurement into projects' monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL), strategic planning, and decision-making processes.
  • Collect and analyse data to track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to impact goals.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support development of data vision and strategy for C&C.
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipeline for data collection, transformation, and storage.
  • Develop and maintain data governance framework to ensure data integrity and compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and reporting requirements related to impact measurement and reporting.
  • Communicate impact results to stakeholders including Management, partners, and broader communities.
  • Stay informed about best practices and emerging trends in impact measurement and reporting.
About You
  • At least a Master Degree or equivalent, with strong statistics / data or decision science / engineering related discipline
  • A minimum of eight years of relevant working experience, preferably with strong experience in project evaluation, strategic planning and data analysis in not-for-profit field/sector
  • Strong discipline in handling matters and information of top confidentiality
  • Strong analytic skills and presentation skills (both written and verbal)
  • Professional qualifications in research and/or statistics
  • Well experienced in multi-task project management and planning
  • Genuine interest in charitable work and community well-being
