Job summary

Jacobs in Hong Kong is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to lead design and coordination of mechanical systems for major infrastructure projects. You will work with multidisciplinary teams to develop practical and innovative solutions that meet client and project requirements.

We expect a degree in Mechanical Engineering, HKIE qualification, and proven experience in water, wastewater or utility infrastructure. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• HKIE membership or equivalent qualification.
• Proven experience in design and delivery of infrastructure projects.
• Experience in water, wastewater, power, or utility infrastructure projects is essential.
• Experience in pumping, piping, and mechanical process systems design.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in English; Cantonese and Mandarin are an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical systems for infrastructure facilities, including water treatment works, pumping stations, wastewater treatment plants, and utility projects
• Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, specifications, drawings, and tender documentation
• Coordinate with civil, structural, electrical, and process engineering teams
• Participate in project planning, design reviews, and construction support activities
• Ensure designs comply with relevant local and international standards
• Assist in stakeholder and client coordination throughout project delivery

Here’s what you’ll need

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
• Corporate Member of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE) or equivalent professional qualification
• Proven experience in the design and delivery of infrastructure projects
• Experience in water, wastewater, power, waste, or other utility infrastructure projects is essential
• Experience in pumping systems, piping systems, and mechanical process systems design
• Strong communication and technical problem-solving skills
• Good command of written and spoken English, Cantonese and Mandarin is an advantage
