Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design and coordinate mechanical systems for major infrastructure projects. You will collaborate with civil, structural, electrical, and process teams to deliver practical, compliant solutions.

Responsibilities include preparing calculations and drawings, participating in design reviews, and supporting construction activities. A degree in mechanical engineering and HKIE membership are preferred, with experience in water/waste projects and strong English

• HKIE Corporate Member or equivalent qualification.
• Proven experience in design and delivery of infrastructure projects.
• Experience in water, wastewater, power, waste, or utility infrastructure projects.

Your impact

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for the design and coordination of mechanical systems for major infrastructure projects. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop practical and innovative solutions that meet client and project requirements.

• Design mechanical systems for infrastructure facilities, including water treatment works, pumping stations, wastewater treatment plants, and utility projects.
• Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, specifications, drawings, and tender documentation.
• Coordinate with civil, structural, electrical, and process engineering teams.
• Participate in project planning, design reviews, and construction support activities.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant local and international standards.
• Assist in stakeholder and client coordination throughout project delivery.

Here's what you'll need

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Corporate Member of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE) or equivalent professional qualification.
• Proven experience in the design and delivery of infrastructure projects.
• Experience in water, wastewater, power, waste, or other utility infrastructure projects is essential.
• Experience in pumping systems, piping systems, and mechanical process systems design.
• Strong communication and technical problem-solving skills.Good command of written and spoken English, Cantonese and Mandarin is an advantage.
