Job summary

St. James’ Settlement in Wan Chai is seeking an Arts Development Officer to assist in developing and implementing ceramic arts programmes, including workshops, exhibitions and community activities.

You will support artists with intellectual disabilities to participate in learning and artistic creation, while helping manage kiln operation, studio equipment and materials. The role also covers administrative and onsite support for events, with a focus on daily studio operations and programme

Qualifications

• Diploma or Associate Degree holder.
• HKDSE with Level 2 or above in five subjects, including Chinese and English or equivalent.
• Experience in rehabilitation services, ceramic art, arts programmes or community services will be an advantage.
• Responsible, self-motivated and willing to work closely with persons with disabilities.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the implementation of ceramic arts development programmes, including workshops, exhibitions, community activities and promotional initiatives.
• Support artists with intellectual disabilities and autism spectrum disorder in learning, artistic creation and programme participation.
• Provide technical support for ceramic arts projects, including kiln operation, studio equipment and materials management.
• Assist in artwork handling, inventory records and project documentation.
• Support the daily operation of the ceramics studio and programme activities.
• Provide administrative and onsite support for events, workshops and exhibitions.
