Job summary

Morgan McKinley is seeking a hands-on Business Analyst (Power BI & Data Analytics) in Hong Kong to support BAU operations and enhance reporting capabilities. The role focuses on capturing To-Be data requirements and shaping future reporting landscapes.

You will design Power BI dashboards, map data across sources, and ensure data quality while collaborating with stakeholders and senior leaders to deliver timely insights.

Qualifications

• Proven track record as a Business Analyst with strong, hands-on Power BI skills (dashboard creation, data modeling).
• Experience gathering and documenting data requirements and process flows (To-Be mapping).

Role Overview

We are partnering with a market-leading insurance group to hire a hands-on Business Analyst (Power BI & Data Analytics).

Joining the Group Risk office, you will play a key role in supporting core day-to-day business-as-usual (BAU) operations and reporting enhancements, while capturing and documenting "To-Be" data requirements to shape the future reporting landscape.

No prior domain knowledge in Operational Risk is required-we are looking for a strong, agile BA with excellent Power BI skills, data mapping capabilities, and a hands-on mindset.

Key Responsibilities

• BAU & Reporting Enhancements: Support core day-to-day deliverables (committee reporting, executive packs, external disclosures) while actively driving process and template enhancements.

• Requirements & Design: Capture, analyze, and document "To-Be" data and reporting requirements to support ongoing system updates and process transformations.

• Tactical Power BI Builds: Design and build hands-on Power BI dashboards and interim reporting solutions to address immediate business needs while future platforms are being built.

• Data Interpretation: Work with complex datasets to extract actionable insights and assist oversight leads with predisposed reporting and data validation.

Key Requirements

• Proven track record as a Business Analyst with strong, hands-on Power BI skills (dashboard creation, data modeling).

• Strong capability in gathering and documenting data requirements and process flows ("To-Be" mapping).

• Ability to manage core BAU work alongside reporting enhancements and forward-looking design.

• Strong communication skills and stakeholder management.
