Job summary

BOC International Holdings Limited invites applications for AVP/VP, CTMS Programmer in Global Commodities. The role maintains and enhances the in-house CTRM/CTMS system, covering desktop front end (.NET) and backend services, APIs and databases to support middle-office functions.

You will provide day-to-day support to traders, participate in design, development, testing, deployment and maintenance, investigate defects, monitor jobs, and ensure compliance with security standards and regulatory

Qualifications

• Degree requirement: Higher Diploma in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or related discipline.
• 4+ years hands-on experience supporting in-house financial/trading/risk systems (CTRM/ETRM).
• Advantage: 2+ years HK or overseas work experience.
• Proficiency in C# and SQL Server with data reconciliation and performance tuning.
• Experience with REST APIs, messaging, batch processing, data integration, and interfaces.
• Experience building Windows desktop apps (WinForms/WPF) and backend services.
• Familiarity with commodity markets and trade lifecycle concepts is a plus.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and stakeholder management; fluent in English and Chinese.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and enhance CTRM/CTMS system, desktop front end (.NET) and backend services, APIs and databases.
• Provide day-to-day user support to traders and system users during trading and reporting cycles.
• Participate in design, development, testing, deployment and maintenance of applications and data components.
• Investigate defects, data issues and performance problems; perform root-cause analysis and improvements.
• Monitor system availability, batch processes, interfaces, and data workflows.
• Develop and tune SQL Server database solutions including schema changes and migrations.
• Participate in code reviews and follow CI/CD and secure development practices.
• Prepare technical docs, user manuals and support materials.

AVP/VP, CTMS Programmer, Global Commodities

Key Accountabilities

• Maintain and enhance the company's internally developed Commodity Trading and Risk Management (CTRM) system and tools, covering both the desktop application front end (.NET) and bank‑end services, APIs and databases. The system is with a primary focus on middle-office functions including but not limited to trade capture, reconciliation, position management, profit and loss calculation, market and credit risk monitoring, as well as management and regulatory reporting, e.g., HKTR reporting;
• Provide day-to-day technical support to traders and system users, and resolve system issues promptly during critical trading, settlement, and reporting periods;
• Participate in the design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of applications, APIs, and database components;
• Investigate and resolve system defects, data exceptions, calculation discrepancies, performance issues, and production incidents; conduct root‑cause analysis and implement improvement measures;
• Monitor system availability, interfaces, batch processes, scheduled jobs, alerts, and data‑processing workflows;
• Develop database solutions on SQL Server, including schema design, migrations and performance tuning;
• Participate in code reviews and follow engineering standards for secure, maintainable software (Git, CI/CD, automated testing);
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, user manuals, and support materials;
• Ensure compliance with the company's information‑security standards, internal controls, access‑control policies, audit requirements, and applicable regulatory requirements;
• Perform other duties assigned by supervisor from time to time.

Skills & Experience

• Degree of Higher Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Finance, Mathematics or a related discipline;
• At least 4 years of hands‑on experience in support of in‑house financial, trading, risk‑management, ETRM, CTRM, or other business‑critical systems, job experience covering incident response and release management;
• Candidates with over 2 years of full time working experience in Hong Kong or overseas is considered as an advantage;
• Proficiency in C# and strong SQL and relational‑database skills (SQL Server preferred), including data reconciliation and performance tuning;
• Experience with REST APIs, messaging systems, batch processing, data integration, and system interfaces;
• Experience with building Windows desktop applications (WinForms/WPF) and/or backend services;
• Familiarity with commodity markets and understanding in trade lifecycle processes, valuation, P&L, positions, exposure, market data, credit risk, and settlement is a plus;
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder management;
• Excellent written and spoken proficiency in Chinese and English.
