Job summary

City University of Hong Kong’s Computing Services Centre is seeking a Technical Officer to provide IT and AV support for events, conferences, and teaching spaces. You will install and maintain systems, assist in presentations, and coordinate with vendors.

Applicants should have an Associate Degree or Higher Diploma in a science/engineering field with at least two years of relevant experience, strong English/Chinese communication, and knowledge of Windows and AV technologies.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree/Higher Diploma in Science, Engineering, or related disciplines with at least 2 years’ relevant post-qualification work experience.
• Good knowledge of AV systems, including audio, video, control systems, and conferencing technologies.
• Knowledge of Windows operating systems, PC hardware, network connectivity, and peripheral devices.
• Good problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure; and
• Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese are required.
• Proficient in AV control system programming, such as Crestron AV Controller; and
• Experience in venue support, event support and AV system maintenance would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support and operate IT and AV systems for University events, conferences, seminars, classes, and activities.
• Assist users in preparing and delivering presentations using PowerPoint, Teams, Zoom, and other platforms.
• Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and upgrades of IT and AV facilities and provide user support.
• Install, configure, and maintain computers, peripheral devices, and related software in teaching venues and event spaces.
• Assist in planning, testing, and documentation of IT and AV system enhancement projects.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors on equipment installation, maintenance, and support.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.
