Job summary

The Hong Kong Red Cross is seeking a Volunteer Development Coordinator to advance volunteer engagement and promotional initiatives. You will coordinate volunteer programmes and foster strategic partnerships, while working with volunteers, internal teams and external stakeholders to strengthen community impact.

Qualifications include a bachelor degree with 2+ years in marketing, engagement or events, and strong communication in English and Chinese. Weekend work may be required.

Job Purpose

The position plays a key role in advancing volunteer development and engagement by driving promotional initiatives, coordinating volunteer programmes and fostering strategic partnerships. Working closely with volunteers, internal teams and external stakeholders, the incumbent will support volunteer mobilisation, programme implementation and service improvement initiatives to enhance community impact. The role also contributes to strengthening volunteer participation, retention and development while supporting the delivery of the Hong Kong Red Cross's humanitarian services and organisational goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement promotional strategies to enhance volunteer services and engagement
• Create engaging communication materials across various channels to promote initiatives
• Coordinate and mobilise volunteers for organisation-wide programmes and events
• Ensure effective planning and deployment of volunteers for smooth event execution
• Support emergency mobilisation and maintain readiness of volunteer resources
• Manage and engage volunteer teams to ensure active participation in programmes
• Build strong relationships with volunteers to enhance retention and development
• Plan and implement programmes, including preparing proposals, budgets and reports
• Monitor progress, identify issues and recommend improvements to enhance service quality
• Strengthen collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders
• Provide guidance and support to volunteers and staff on engagement matters
• Support team operations and perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Social Science, Social Work or related disciplines with at least 2 years of relevant experience
• Preferably with experience in marketing, corporate engagement, volunteer services or event management
• Strong marketing mindset with experience in promotions, campaigns and content development
• Good knowledge in stakeholder engagement and volunteer or community services
• Creative, proactive, adaptable and able to take initiative in a dynamic environment
• Strong communication, writing and interpersonal skills
• Independent, result-oriented and able to work under pressure
• A good team player with strong collaboration skills with internal and external parties
• Passionate about humanitarian work and volunteer development
• Proficient in MS Office; design and video editing skills are an advantage
• Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua)
• Willing to work on weekends or public holidays when required
