Job summary

iAdvantage Limited, a leading data centre operator in Hong Kong, seeks an experienced professional to own technical direction and drive operational resilience across site operations. You will lead A&A projects, system upgrades, QA/QC and RCA initiatives while coordinating with business units to ensure reliable data center performance.

Applicants should have a degree in Building Services, Electrical & Mechanical Engineering, plus strong communication and data center experience.

Qualifications

• Degree in Building Services, Electrical & Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Expertise in electrical/mechanical design software and tools.
• Excellent communication skills for coordination with clients and team members.

Responsibilities

• Provide authoritative technical direction to site operations teams and drive system performance improvements.
• Lead A&A (Addition & Alteration) projects with business units; guide site teams during implementation.
• Manage operation system upgrades including reviews of mechanical architecture for cost and energy optimization.
• Oversee QA/QC across project lifecycles and certify system readiness during upgrades.
• Lead RCA investigations for mechanical issues and plan corrective actions; manage vendor lifecycle upgrades.

Responsibilities

1. Technical Ownership

• Provide authoritative technical direction and strategic recommendations to site operations teams, driving continuous improvement in system performance and operational resilience.

2. Operation Projects :

• Customer A&A (Addition & Alteration) Projects: Collaborate with business units to define project requirements; lead the review of operational projects and provide expert technical guidance to site teams during implementation.
• Operation System Upgrades: Conduct comprehensive technical reviews and holistic assessments of the building’s mechanical architecture to drive cost-effectiveness, energy optimization, and minimal disruption to live operations.

3. Quality & Commissioning :

• Provide rigorous QA/QC oversight throughout project lifecycles; evaluate equipment testing results and certify system readiness during operational upgrades to ensure seamless handover.

4. Failure Management & RCAs :

• Lead in-depth technical investigations and root-cause analyses (RCA) for all mechanical anomalies, including chiller failures, condenser issues, control issues, airflow inconsistencies and thermal runaway events; develop and implement corrective action plans to prevent recurrence.

5. Vendor & Lifecycle Management:

• Audit vendor performance during critical maintenance events (e.g., chiller overhauls, condenser coil replacements & etc ) and strategically plan long-term infrastructure lifecycle upgrades to future-proof the Data Center’s mechanical assets.

Requirements

• Degree holder in Building Services,Electrical & Mechanical Engineering or related disciplines
• Technical Proficiency: Expertise in electrical/ mechanical design software and tools.
• Communication: Excellent communication skills for effective coordination with clients and team members. This role is crucial for ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and safety of data center electrical systems.
• Experience in Data Center design, construction and operation
• Candidate with less experience may be considered as Senior Manager
