The Assistant Vice President – Finance is responsible for overseeing the financial management, regulatory reporting, treasury operations and control framework of the Group’s licensed entities. The role ensures compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, maintains effective financial governance and liquidity management, and supports the delivery of accurate and timely financial information to management.
Key Responsibilities
Regulatory Finance & Financial Control
- Oversee the preparation and submission of FRR returns and other regulatory filings for SFC-licensed entities.
- Ensure compliance with the Securities and Futures Ordinance (SFO), Client Money Rules and other applicable regulatory requirements.
- Oversee monthly and annual financial closing processes, financial statements and management accounts.
- Maintain effective internal controls, financial governance and regulatory compliance frameworks.
Treasury, Banking & Corporate Reporting
- Manage banking relationships, payment controls, cash management and liquidity monitoring activities.
- Oversee banking administration, account maintenance and KYC documentation.
- Coordinate audits, tax compliance and statutory reporting obligations.
- Act as the primary liaison with auditors, tax advisers and other external professional parties.
Finance Operations & Team Leadership
- Lead and develop finance team members to maintain a high-performing finance function.
- Drive process improvement and operational efficiency initiatives.
- Support finance system enhancements and automation projects.
- Coordinate with Group Finance on consolidation, budgeting and reporting requirements.
Key Requirements & Qualifications
Education & Professional Qualification
- Bachelor's degree or above in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
- CPA, ACCA or equivalent professional qualification preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in accounting, finance or regulatory reporting, preferably within Securities, Wealth Management or Financial Services industries.
- Hands-on experience in preparing and reviewing SFC FRR returns and regulatory filings.
- Proven experience in financial reporting, audits, treasury management and internal controls.
- Prior experience in team supervision or people management is preferred.
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of SFO, FRR and client money regulations.
- Familiarity with accounting standards, audit processes and corporate banking operations.
- Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
