Job summary

JLL is seeking an experienced facilities and building services professional to oversee university maintenance and projects in Hong Kong. You will manage progress, ensure reliability of HVAC, electrical, plumbing and fire protection systems, and mentor a technical team while coordinating with 3rd party vendors.

The role requires a degree in Building Services Engineering, 5+ years in FM or building services, and strong English/Chinese communication. HKIE/CIBSE membership is preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree in building services or related engineering field.
• Membership in HKIE or CIBSE is highly preferred.
• Minimum 5 years in facility management or building services maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with users and facility management team to understand requirements and expectations on maintenance works and project progress.
• Manage and monitor work progress and improvement works; ensure reliability of building services systems.
• Review maintenance standards and policies; monitor contractors' workmanship and progress.
• Supervise and mentor technical staff; assign tasks and provide feedback to ensure quality.
• Ensure services comply with statutory requirements, regulations, and KPI targets.
• Lead technical team and manage 3rd party vendors for facilities and preventive/corrective maintenance.
• Support FM team to prepare regular and ad hoc reports for the Client.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting; draft tender/quotation documents.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Degree in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field
• Membership in relevant professional bodies (e.g. HKIE, CIBSE) is highly preferred
• Minimum 5 years of experience in facility management or building services maintenance
• Proven experience in managing and supervising technical team
• Strong knowledge of building services systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing and fire protection systems
• Understand of relevant statutory requirements, regulations, and ordinances related to building services and maintenance
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Fluent in English and Chinese
• Ability to work flexible hours when required
• Willingness to respond to emergency situations outside of regular working hours
