Job summary

HKBN in Hong Kong is seeking an Assistant Network Engineer to support initial fault isolation, site maintenance, and network troubleshooting. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to install and upgrade equipment and perform routine inspections.

Candidates should hold a diploma or above in IT/telecom fields, with familiarity in IP/fiber networks and TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, switches and router configuration.

Qualifications

• Diploma or above in IT/telecom or related disciplines; F.5/DSE with relevant experience will be considered.
• Familiarity with IP network and fiber network is preferred.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, LAN, WAN, switches and router configuration.
• Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese.

Responsibilities

• Initial fault isolation and maintenance at sites in daily operation.
• Ensure problems are resolved in a timely manner.
• Perform routine inspection and fault prevention.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on troubleshooting, equipment installation and upgrading.
• Assist in administrative tasks such as information/record updates.
• Handle ad-hoc duties or projects as assigned.
• Shift duty 7x24 and outdoor work with allowance provided.
