Job summary

HKBN Hong Kong Broadband Network is seeking an Assistant Engineer / Engineer (Switching Network) to monitor network health, perform upgrades and data backups, and provide second-tier support to internal teams. The role requires a 7x24 shift schedule with monthly allowance and a strong ability to work under pressure.

Minimum education is a higher diploma in computer science or equivalent, and knowledge of TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, and basic switch/router configuration is preferred.

Qualifications

• High Diploma or above in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Knowledge of Internet services and applications.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, LAN, WAN, basic switches & router configuration is preferred.
• Knowledge of shell script or programming languages is an advantage.
• 7 x 24 shift duty is required (with monthly allowance provided).
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure.
• 1-year experience in network field is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Perform network monitoring and health checking.
• Perform system upgrade, data backup/restoration.
• Provide 2nd tier network support to internal parties.
• Prepare operation reports.
