Job summary

Hong Kong Parkview in Hong Kong is seeking an experienced Assistant Manager for the Western Restaurant to lead the team in the absence of the Restaurant Manager. The role demands strong leadership, impeccable service standards and a passion for hospitality excellence.

You will oversee cleanliness, guest relations, reservations and cost-aware ordering, with fluent English and Chinese. Mandarin is a plus; MS Office and wine knowledge are valued, and you will report to hotel management.

Qualifications

• Degree / Diploma in food and beverage / hospitality management.
• 6+ years’ experience in an international class hotel / clubhouse / well-established all-day-dining restaurant.
• At least 2 years’ experience in a similar capacity.
• Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese; Mandarin is an advantage
• MS Office proficiency
• Finance knowledge
• Extensive wine and product knowledge
• Strong communication and customer service mindset
• Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

• Take full responsibility in the absence of the Restaurant Manager.
• Check standards of cleanliness in the restaurant and liaise with relevant departments.
• Check standard of production on food display and advise the Sous Chef of any inconsistencies.
• Assist the Captains during service.
• Assist with reservations, greeting and seating guests.
• Prepare the required reports and forecasts in the absence of the Restaurant Manager.
• Approve food / beverage / general requisitions / transfer forms and monitor costs.
• Handle guests’ complaints and comments and take action in RM’s absence.
• Check the personal hygiene, grooming and image of staff.

Assistant Manager – Western Restaurant

Responsibilities:

Take full responsibility in the absence of the Restaurant Manager.

Check standards of cleanliness in the restaurant (including equipment, furniture, carpets, floor etc.) and liaise with relevant departments.

Check standard of production on food products display and advise the duty Sous Chef of any inconsistencies.

Assist the Captains during service.

Assist with reservations, greeting and seating arriving guests.

Prepare the required reports and forecasts in the absence of the Restaurant Manager.

Approve food / beverage / general requisitions / transfer forms in sections appointed and be aware of costs involved.

Handle guests’ complaints and comments and takes appropriate action in the absence of the Restaurant Manager.

Check the personal hygiene, grooming and image of staff.

Requirements:

Degree / Diploma in food and beverage / hospitality management.

Minimum 6 years’ experience in an international class hotel / clubhouse / well-established all-day-dining restaurant.

At least 2 years’ experience in a similar capacity.

Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese; Good Mandarin is definitely an advantage

Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office
